R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Norma Garza Nunez is retiring from the City of
  Robstown and Robstown Utility Systems on December 31, 2023, drawing
  to a close an exemplary career in public service that has spanned
  four and a half decades; and
         WHEREAS, Norma Nunez began working for the City of Robstown
  as a clerk in the administration department on September 1, 1977,
  and she has gone on to serve as a clerk in the inspection
  department, a clerk II in the administration department, a payroll
  clerk, an administrative assistant, interim city secretary, and
  civil service director; over the course of her lengthy tenure with
  the city, she has worked under 15 mayors, and her wide-ranging
  responsibilities have included supervising city elections,
  preparing and reviewing policies, resolutions, and proclamations,
  and acting as a liaison between the Civil Service Commission and
  firefighters and police officers; and
         WHEREAS, After 25 years of service, Mrs. Nunez briefly left
  the City of Robstown and went to work for Wesley Community Center
  for 18 months; she rejoined the city as an administrative assistant
  with Robstown Utility Systems, a position she has held for the past
  two decades, and she has served as Robstown's civil service
  director since January 2021; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Nunez has further contributed to her community
  as a member of the Wesley Community Center Board of Directors and as
  treasurer of the Cotton Community Partnership Board of Directors;
  in all her endeavors, she enjoys the love and support of her
  husband, Mario Nunez, as well as her children, Richard and Roxanne,
  and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Through her dedication, expertise, and commitment
  to excellence, Norma Nunez has greatly benefited her fellow
  citizens and earned the lasting respect and admiration of her
  colleagues, and she may indeed reflect with pride on a career well
  spent as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Norma Garza
  Nunez on her retirement from the City of Robstown and Robstown
  Utility Systems and extend to her sincere best wishes for the
  future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Nunez as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
