R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Residents are gathering on November 5, 2023, for the |
|
|
annual Flower Mound Veterans Day Ceremony; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The event is taking place at Flower Mound High |
|
|
School, and activities include a family picnic and a veterans |
|
|
review, where members of local boys' and girls' scouting troops and |
|
|
ROTC units will parade in uniform; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ceremonies will continue on November 10 with the |
|
|
Veterans Day Relay Run, an event in which citizens and former |
|
|
members of the military, including those representing the Flower |
|
|
Mound Police and Fire Departments, run portions of a 31.8-mile |
|
|
route while carrying the U.S. flag; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt of gratitude to the |
|
|
men and women who have put their lives on the line in defense of our |
|
|
safety and freedom, and the Flower Mound Veterans Day Ceremony is a |
|
|
fitting tribute to their sacrifice and dedication to duty; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commemorate the 2023 Flower |
|
|
Mound Veterans Day Ceremony and extend to all those in attendance |
|
|
sincere best wishes for a meaningful and memorable event. |
