R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Cynthia Mendoza served her country with great honor |
|
and distinction as a member of the United States military, and she |
|
is being recognized for her contributions at the 27th Annual San |
|
Elizario Veterans Day Celebration on November 11, 2023; and |
|
WHEREAS, Originally celebrated as Armistice Day in |
|
recognition of the end of World War I, Veterans Day now honors all |
|
who have served in the armed forces, including the former members of |
|
the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Coast |
|
Guard, and National Guard; by upholding America's foundational |
|
values of selflessness and sacrifice, they have helped ensure that |
|
our country's promise will endure for generations to come; and |
|
WHEREAS, Answering her nation's call to duty, Cynthia Mendoza |
|
joined the U.S. Army in 1978 and went on to complete her enlistment |
|
at the rank of private E-2 in 1980; and |
|
WHEREAS, Demonstrating exemplary dedication, Cynthia Mendoza |
|
upheld the highest ideals of the U.S. armed forces during her years |
|
in uniform, and her fellow citizens owe her a lasting debt of |
|
gratitude; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby honor Cynthia Mendoza for |
|
her military service on the occasion of the 27th Annual San Elizario |
|
Veterans Day Celebration and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Mendoza as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
