R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The WBCA Red, White and BBQ cook-off is taking place |
|
|
in Laredo on February 23 and 24, 2024; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the Champions Barbecue Alliance as one |
|
|
of the organization's state championship cook-offs, this |
|
|
much-anticipated event attracts talented pitmasters from across |
|
|
Texas who put their culinary abilities to the test as they vie to |
|
|
produce the tastiest entries in several different categories; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The competition is being held as part of the annual |
|
|
Washington's Birthday Celebration event hosted by the Washington's |
|
|
Birthday Celebration Association; guests will have the opportunity |
|
|
to sample a variety of savory dishes while taking part in a fun, |
|
|
family-oriented get-together that also includes live music and an |
|
|
assortment of vendors; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and the |
|
|
WBCA Red, White and BBQ cook-off is sure to offer good food and good |
|
|
times to everyone in attendance; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commemorate the 2024 WBCA |
|
|
Red, White and BBQ cook-off and extend to the organizers, |
|
|
contestants, and attendees sincere best wishes for a successful and |
|
|
memorable event. |
