R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Edgar Alvarado of Clint ISD Early College Academy |
|
|
participated in the inaugural Youth Voice Empowerment Summit held |
|
|
at El Paso Community College's Mission Del Paso Campus on October |
|
|
28, 2023; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Carlos Hipolito-Delgado, interim executive |
|
|
director of the Latino Research and Policy Center at the University |
|
|
of Colorado Denver, was a featured speaker at the event; designed to |
|
|
help students develop their leadership and decision-making skills, |
|
|
the summit also has the goal of equipping youth with the tools |
|
|
necessary to guide initiatives and important changes in their |
|
|
schools and communities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Edgar Alvarado is a senior at Clint Academy and is |
|
|
actively involved in the campus community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has demonstrated |
|
|
exceptional drive and initiative and may indeed look forward to a |
|
|
future bright with promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Edgar Alvarado for |
|
|
participating in the 2023 Youth Voice Empowerment Summit and extend |
|
|
to this exemplary student sincere best wishes for the future; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Edgar Alvarado as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
