R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Gregory R. Anderson of Dallas has greatly benefited
  the University of North Texas System through his service as deputy
  chancellor for finance and operations; and
         WHEREAS, Appointed in February 2022, Greg Anderson is
  responsible for the system's accounting, budgets, procurement,
  treasury, strategic infrastructure, human resources, and
  information technology teams, and he also oversees the preparation
  and development of its biennial legislative appropriations
  request, annual operating budget, and comprehensive yearly
  financial report for the board of regents; in addition, he serves as
  chair of the CFO Council and Shared Services Governing Body; and
         WHEREAS, Prior to his appointment as deputy chancellor for
  finance and operations, Mr. Anderson served as the executive vice
  president, finance and operations for the University of North Texas
  Health Science Center in Fort Worth from 2016 to 2022; over the
  course of his exemplary tenure, he implemented a number of
  successful initiatives, including a more inclusive and transparent
  budget process, a long-range planning process, and a performance
  payment program with no increases in tuition; in addition, UNTHSC
  saw many improvements under his able leadership, such as the
  strengthening of the primary reserve from 38 percent in 2016 to 98
  percent in 2022, an overall increase in reserves from $111 million
  to $210 million, and the growth in quasi-endowments and endowments
  from $28 million to more than $91 million; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Anderson brought to his work at the UNT System a
  wealth of experience from his previous service as chief financial
  officer of Kalon Biotherapeutics and as chief financial officer and
  treasurer for The Texas A&M University System, where he worked for
  nearly three decades; he holds a bachelor's degree in accounting
  from Illinois State University and is licensed as a certified
  public accountant; in all his endeavors, he enjoys the love and
  support of his wife, Janet, as well as his 5 children and 11
  grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Through his adept leadership and commitment to
  excellence, Greg Anderson has significantly advanced the important
  mission of the University of North Texas System; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 3rd
  Called Session, hereby commend Gregory R. Anderson for his
  contributions to the University of North Texas System and extend to
  him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Anderson as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas Senate.
