R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 75th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
  mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Ezequiel and Maria
  Anita Ramirez Silva of Brownsville are celebrating this joyous
  milestone in their marriage on October 23, 2023; and
         WHEREAS, Ezequiel Silva Sr. and the former Anita Ramirez
  first met at a picnic on Easter Sunday in Brownsville in 1947;
  looking dapper in his double-breasted suit, Mr. Silva caught the
  eye of Ms. Ramirez, a recent Brownsville High School graduate;
  after a courtship that included dates at the Capitol cinema and
  dancing at the El Jardin Hotel, the couple were joined in matrimony
  in 1948 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Brownsville; and
         WHEREAS, Shortly after their union, Mr. and Mrs. Silva
  settled in Brownsville to raise their family, which today includes
  their five children, Ezequiel Silva Jr. and his wife, Shirley,
  Hector Silva and his wife, Rosaura, Cynthia Silva Martinez and her
  husband, Jose, Patsy Schanbaum and her husband, Robert, and Daniel
  Rene Silva and his wife, Leticia; they have been further blessed
  with 12 grandchildren, Ezequiel Silva III and his wife, Erika,
  Marcus Silva and his wife, Natalie, Natalie Lahti and her husband,
  Steve, Lauren Flores and her husband, Roy, Sara Zamora and her
  husband, Rolando, Chris Martinez and his wife, Cear, Nicholaus
  Schanbaum and his wife, Terri, Kimberly Woolston and her husband,
  Jacob, Roni Bauman and her husband, Brandon, Jamie Ann Schanbaum,
  and Eric and Danielle Silva, as well as 17 great-grandchildren,
  Sophie, Matthew, Anthony, and Aaron Silva, Ethan Carlson, Ethan and
  Judah Lahti, Evan and Evie Flores, Michael and Sofia Zamora, Emily
  and Mason Schanbaum, Logan and Brody Woolston, and Bobbie and
  Brenton Bauman; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Silva have enjoyed seven and a half
  decades of abiding love and affection for each other, and they are
  among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a
  lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 3rd
  Called Session, hereby congratulate Ezequiel Silva Sr. and Maria
  Anita Ramirez Silva on their 75th wedding anniversary and extend to
  them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Silva as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas Senate.
