SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 52
         WHEREAS, The Chapel Hill Independent School District
  junior high school honors band achieved great distinction with
  its championship showing at the state level of the 2023
  Association of Texas Small School Bands Outstanding Performance
  Series; and
 
         WHEREAS, Each year, concert bands from small middle
  schools and high schools across the Lone Star State are
  recognized by the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series program
  for their exceptional skill and hard work; and
 
         WHEREAS, Benefiting from the able leadership of head
  director Yvonne Garcia, the seventh-grade and eighth-grade members
  of the Chapel Hill honors band excelled in the ATSSB regional and
  area rounds to advance two songs to the Outstanding Performance
  Series state event; on July 20, after finalists were judged and
  ranked during the Texas Bandmasters Association Convention in
  San Antonio, Chapel Hill emerged triumphant as the 2C/3C champion
  in both the march and concert piece categories; and
 
         WHEREAS, These talented young musicians have brought great
  pride to the Chapel Hill school district and their community, and
  they will treasure the memory of this accomplishment for the rest
  of their lives; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate the Chapel
  Hill Independent School District junior high school honors band on
  winning the 2C/3C march and concert championships at the 2023
  Association of Texas Small School Bands Outstanding Performance
  Series state competition and extend to all those associated with
  the band sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
  further
 
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for the band as an expression of high regard from the
  Texas Senate.
