R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family, friends, and neighbors will forever
  treasure their memories of Kenneth Michael Rose of Dripping
  Springs, who passed away on March 14, 2023, at the age of 79; and
         WHEREAS, Born on January 22, 1944, Mike Rose was the son of
  Kenneth Milan Rose and Marguerite Huffman Rose and grew up with the
  companionship of four siblings, Bette, Patty, John, and Barbara;
  over the course of his father's career in the military, he and his
  family lived in Guam, Germany, France, Louisiana, Iowa, El Paso,
  and Killeen; he graduated from Killeen High School, where he was a
  member of the golf team and finished third in his district during
  his junior and senior years; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Rose attended Mason City Junior College, Temple
  Junior College, Iowa State University, and Mary Hardin-Baylor
  College before graduating from Southwest Texas State College in
  1967; he was a member of the SWT men's golf team that won the Lone
  Star Conference Championship and earned a trip to the national
  tournament in 1966 and 1967; and
         WHEREAS, After returning home to Killeen, Mr. Rose embarked
  on a career in education; he also supported his two younger siblings
  and his mother, who was able to earn her college degree and become a
  teacher herself; while working in Crystal City, he met the love of
  his life, Bonnie Barton; the couple relocated to Dripping Springs
  in 1977 and went on to found Rose Real Estate in 1986; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his loved ones, Mr. Rose was the
  proud father of a son, Patrick, and a daughter, Laura; "Papa Rose,"
  as he was affectionately known, had the pleasure of welcoming into
  his family four grandchildren, Henry, Charlie, Ella, and Jack;
  beloved by neighbors, he was always ready to offer sage advice or
  help out a friend in need; and
         WHEREAS, Admired for his kindness, generosity, and optimism,
  Mike Rose lived a caring and purposeful life, and he will forever be
  a source of inspiration to those he leaves behind; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 3rd
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Kenneth Michael
  Rose and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Mike Rose.
