SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 57

WHEREAS, Sergeant Tomas Cardenas of the Texas Department of Public Safety is being promoted to Texas Ranger on November 1, 2023, and this occasion provides a welcome opportunity to recognize his accomplishments in law enforcement; and

WHEREAS, Born and raised in the Lone Star State, Sergeant Cardenas received his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Texas State University in 2010; four years later, he successfully completed his rigorous training in the DPS Trooper Academy; and

WHEREAS, Sergeant Cardenas served with distinction as a state trooper on patrol in Rosenberg from 2014 to 2020; his skill, dedication, and determination to excel then earned him promotion to the Criminal Investigations Division; and

WHEREAS, During his tenure as a special agent, Sergeant Cardenas has handled numerous complex criminal investigations, demonstrating unwavering dedication to bringing wrongdoers to justice; he will begin his tenure as a Texas Ranger in Pierce; and

WHEREAS, Tomas Cardenas has advanced in his profession through his steadfast commitment to protecting and serving his fellow Texans, and as he takes on this exciting new challenge, he may indeed reflect with pride on his accomplishments to date; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Tomas Cardenas on his promotion to Texas Ranger and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in his vital endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for Sergeant Cardenas as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
