R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Tomas Cardenas of the Texas Department of |
|
|
Public Safety is being promoted to Texas Ranger on November 1, 2023, |
|
|
and this occasion provides a welcome opportunity to recognize his |
|
|
accomplishments in law enforcement; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Born and raised in the Lone Star State, Sergeant |
|
|
Cardenas received his bachelor's degree in criminal justice from |
|
|
Texas State University in 2010; four years later, he successfully |
|
|
completed his rigorous training in the DPS Trooper Academy; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Cardenas served with distinction as a state |
|
|
trooper on patrol in Rosenberg from 2014 to 2020; his skill, |
|
|
dedication, and determination to excel then earned him promotion to |
|
|
the Criminal Investigations Division; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, During his tenure as a special agent, Sergeant |
|
|
Cardenas has handled numerous complex criminal investigations, |
|
|
demonstrating unwavering dedication to bringing wrongdoers to |
|
|
justice; he will begin his tenure as a Texas Ranger in Pierce; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Tomas Cardenas has advanced in his profession |
|
|
through his steadfast commitment to protecting and serving his |
|
|
fellow Texans, and as he takes on this exciting new challenge, he |
|
|
may indeed reflect with pride on his accomplishments to date; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 3rd |
|
|
Called Session, hereby congratulate Tomas Cardenas on his promotion |
|
|
to Texas Ranger and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success in his vital endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Sergeant Cardenas as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas Senate. |
