R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Downtown Dallas, Inc. is celebrating its 65th
  anniversary in 2023, and this occasion provides a fitting
  opportunity to reflect on the organization's pivotal role in
  shaping the city's urban landscape; and
         WHEREAS, Founded in 1958, DDI seeks to foster a vibrant and
  sustainable environment in downtown Dallas by focusing on
  infrastructure, public safety, beautification, cultural
  inclusivity, and economic development; this nonprofit organization
  also works to market the city and position Dallas as a global
  destination; DDI is funded by membership dues, contracts with the
  City of Dallas, and the Dallas Downtown Improvement District; and
         WHEREAS, Under the leadership of current president and CEO
  Jennifer Scripps, DDI has played an important role in revitalizing
  the city's downtown area; in 2022, the organization contributed to
  numerous development projects, including Carpenter Park, One
  Newpark, and the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas, as
  well as to initiatives addressing housing affordability and
  homelessness such as The Galbraith residential development and
  R.E.A.L. Time Rehousing; and
         WHEREAS, DDI has received many awards from the International
  Downtown Association, including the Merit Award and recognition in
  the community development, business and economic development, and
  marketing categories; and
         WHEREAS, Downtown Dallas, Inc. is dedicated to building an
  even brighter future for the city in the decades to come, and the
  members of this outstanding organization are deserving of
  recognition for all that it has achieved over the past six and a
  half decades; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 3rd
  Called Session, hereby commemorate the 65th anniversary of Downtown
  Dallas, Inc. and extend to all those associated with the
  organization sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Downtown Dallas, Inc. as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas Senate.
