SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize the award-winning Sunset Elementary School in Dumas on |
|
|
receiving the 2023 National Blue Ribbon Award; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the National Blue Ribbon Schools |
|
|
Program sponsored by the United States Department of Education, |
|
|
the award recognizes high-achieving schools and schools that |
|
|
bridge the achievement gap; the students and educators of Sunset |
|
|
Elementary School were recognized for their exemplary |
|
|
performance, and their families and community members were |
|
|
credited with nurturing a culture of achievement that creates |
|
|
opportunities for the future; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through their hard work and determination, the |
|
|
students and faculty of Sunset Elementary School have reached the |
|
|
pinnacle of academic excellence, and their outstanding |
|
|
accomplishment of being named a National Blue Ribbon School is a |
|
|
shining example to other schools and districts across the Lone |
|
|
Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, It is truly fitting that this exceptional school |
|
|
receive special recognition for attaining a level of academic |
|
|
excellence that will be a source of inspiration to the members of |
|
|
the Dumas community and to the Dumas Independent School District |
|
|
for years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend the students, |
|
|
educators, and faculty members of Sunset Elementary School on |
|
|
earning a National Blue Ribbon School Award for 2023; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
the school as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
