HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, Jerod Foster is receiving a Distinguished Alumni
  Award from the Texas Tech Alumni Association on November 17, 2023;
  and
         WHEREAS, Each year, the Texas Tech Alumni Association honors
  graduates of Texas Tech University who have made a significant
  impact on the lives of others through their professional
  achievements and community involvement; and
         WHEREAS, Jerod Foster is an award-winning travel and
  conservation photographer, filmmaker, and producer, and his
  clients have included The Nature Conservancy, the Bullock Texas
  State History Museum, Texas Monthly, and The New York Times; early
  in his career, he was employed at the Texas Techsan magazine, and he
  currently serves as an associate professor of practice in the
  College of Media and Communication at Texas Tech University; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Foster has authored seven books on photography
  and visual storytelling, including Between Two Rivers: Photography
  and Poems Between the Brazos and the Rio Grande, which was published
  by Texas Tech Press and was recognized among the top 100 university
  press books in 2020 by Literary Hub; he is also in the process of
  producing a documentary on the endangered lesser prairie chicken as
  well as a large-scale documentary series on exploring the Great
  Plains via cycling; he holds a doctorate in mass communications;
  and
         WHEREAS, The accomplishments of noteworthy alumni are a
  source of great pride to all those associated with Texas Tech, and
  Jerod Foster is indeed deserving of this prestigious honor; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the 88th Legislature of the State of Texas,
  4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Jerod Foster on being named
  a Distinguished Alumni by the Texas Tech Alumni Association and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Foster as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives and Senate.
