R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Mark Thomas retired as president and CEO of the
  Taylor Economic Development Corporation on October 31, 2023, and
  this occasion provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on the
  contributions of this esteemed Texan; and
         WHEREAS, Having assumed leadership of TEDC in 2016,
  Mr. Thomas helped strengthen the organization's finances, even
  while guiding it through the COVID-19 pandemic; during his tenure,
  TEDC launched numerous new projects and cultivated billions of
  dollars of capital investments in Taylor, attracting companies such
  as Samsung, Valero, Noren Products, Summit Cabinets, and Hart
  Components; his efforts have also enabled the organization to
  target investments in roads and water and wastewater
  infrastructure; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Thomas brought to his role a wealth of knowledge
  and expertise from his more than 30 years of experience in economic
  development leadership in Midland, Waco, and Georgetown; and
         WHEREAS, Through his dedication, professionalism, and
  commitment to excellence, Mark Thomas has greatly benefited his
  fellow Texans, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his
  exceptional record of achievement as he embarks on the next
  exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Mark Thomas on
  his retirement as president and CEO of the Taylor Economic
  Development Corporation and extend to him sincere best wishes for
  the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Thomas as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
