R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Justin Hobbs of the Flower Mound Police Department |
|
was promoted to the rank of sergeant on August 6, 2023, and this |
|
achievement represents an impressive milestone in his law |
|
enforcement career; and |
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Hobbs was hired by the Flower Mound Police |
|
Department as a patrol officer in February 2020, and he was |
|
subsequently transferred to the community services division; |
|
throughout his tenure, he has distinguished himself in such varied |
|
roles as bicycle officer, marine safety enforcement officer, drone |
|
pilot, and SWAT logistics coordinator, and he has furthered his |
|
professional development by earning certification as an |
|
intermediate peace officer; and |
|
WHEREAS, In recognition of his contributions, Sergeant Hobbs |
|
was nominated for Officer of the Year in both 2021 and 2022; his |
|
other accolades include a Certificate of Merit and a special |
|
commendation from the One Tribe Foundation for providing support |
|
for a motorcycle benefit ride to assist veterans; this accomplished |
|
police officer holds a bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University |
|
and a master's degree from the University of Arizona; previously, |
|
he served his country as a logistics readiness officer in the |
|
U.S. Air Force, and he worked for the Peoria Police Department in |
|
Arizona from 2010 to 2016; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his skill, professionalism, and dedication |
|
to duty, Sergeant Justin Hobbs has greatly benefited his colleagues |
|
and his fellow citizens, and he may indeed reflect with pride on |
|
this well-deserved promotion; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Justin Hobbs |
|
on attaining the rank of sergeant with the Flower Mound Police |
|
Department and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Sergeant Hobbs as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
