R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Honorable Omar Maldonado is receiving the |
|
|
prestigious Leadership Award from the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce |
|
|
at the group's annual Installation & Awards Banquet on November 8, |
|
|
2023; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each year, the chamber recognizes local citizens for |
|
|
their outstanding efforts in behalf of the community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A native of Edinburg, Omar Maldonado has served as |
|
|
judge for the Hidalgo County Court No. 8 since his election in 2014; |
|
|
he is also the owner of Barrel House Kitchen, a restaurant that |
|
|
collaborates with the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School |
|
|
District to provide meals to students facing weekend food |
|
|
insecurity; over the years, the program has distributed more than |
|
|
1,600 meals; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Judge Omar Maldonado has demonstrated a lasting |
|
|
commitment to making Edinburg a better place for all, and in so |
|
|
doing, he has earned the deep respect and appreciation of his fellow |
|
|
residents; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Judge Omar |
|
|
Maldonado on his receipt of the 2023 Edinburg Chamber of Commerce |
|
|
Leadership Award and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Judge Maldonado as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
