SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
  WHEREAS, The annual Texas Department of Public Safety
  Foundation BBQ Cook-Off is taking place in Midland on March 22 and
  23, 2024; and
         WHEREAS, This much-anticipated event is sanctioned by the
  International Barbeque Cookers Association as one of the
  organization's annual state championship cook-offs; the contest
  draws accomplished pitmasters from across Texas who strive to
  create the tastiest dishes in several different categories;
  attendees enjoy a fun, family-oriented atmosphere along with great
  food and spirited competition; and
         WHEREAS, Proceeds from the cook-off will benefit the Texas
  Department of Public Safety Foundation, a nonprofit organization
  that supports DPS officers and employees through educational
  advancement, service recognition, community connections, financial
  assistance, and professional development; and
         WHEREAS, The Texas Department of Public Safety Foundation BBQ
  Cook-Off is a fitting celebration of the smoked delicacies that are
  such an integral part of Texas culture, and it promises to be a
  source of fond memories for all who attend; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the 88th Legislature of the State of Texas,
  4th Called Session, hereby commemorate the 2024 Texas Department of
  Public Safety Foundation BBQ Cook-Off and extend to the organizers
  and participants sincere best wishes for a fun and successful
  event; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the foundation as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
