SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize Isaac McAllen for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This fine young man has joined the elite corps of |
|
|
Eagles, and he recently received the coveted Eagle Badge at his |
|
|
Court of Honor held on October 22, 2023; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Few achieve this distinguished honor; only a |
|
|
small percentage of boys in the Boy Scouts of America program |
|
|
attain the rank of Eagle Scout; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and |
|
|
promise, Isaac advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second, |
|
|
First, Star, and Life classes before reaching Eagle Scout; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This personable young man displayed leadership |
|
|
through planning, developing, and conducting a service project |
|
|
that benefited his community; for his project, he created an |
|
|
outdoor classroom for Saint Matthew's Episcopal Church and |
|
|
School in Edinburg during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic |
|
|
that allowed the school to safely provide in-person classes to |
|
|
the children of families of first responders, medical staff, and |
|
|
teachers; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, Isaac has brought |
|
|
great honor to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and |
|
|
his state; he is truly a shining example to his fellow Scouts and |
|
|
to the young people of Texas; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|
|
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Isaac McAllen on |
|
|
receiving this prestigious honor and congratulate him on his |
|
|
outstanding achievement; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
Eagle Scout Isaac McAllen as an expression of esteem from the |
|
|
Texas Senate. |
