SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 3

Hector Gutierrez |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|
commemorates the life of Hector Hugo Gutierrez, who died on August |
|
9, 2023; and |
|
WHEREAS, Hector Gutierrez was born in Paras, Nuevo Leon, |
|
Mexico, and was raised in Monterrey; a brilliant student with |
|
extraordinary promise, Hector began a long and successful career in |
|
banking and was assigned to a post in Reynosa, Mexico; and |
|
WHEREAS, A man of discipline and integrity, Hector held a |
|
number of leadership positions in Reynosa, including regional |
|
director for a national Mexican bank; he found great fulfillment |
|
serving as an officer in finance until 1989, when he retired from |
|
banking to pursue a career in law; and |
|
WHEREAS, Hector became a licensed attorney in Mexico, where |
|
he devoted his time and energy to representing business owners and |
|
other individuals in numerous cases involving land disputes; he was |
|
beloved and respected in his community for the wisdom of his |
|
counsel and the breadth of his understanding of legal matters, |
|
Mexican politics, and current events; and |
|
WHEREAS, Hector was a faithful husband to Isabelle, his wife |
|
of 55 years, and was a loving father to their three sons, Hugo, |
|
Jaime, and Carlos, as well as a doting grandfather to their three |
|
grandsons, who enriched his life immeasurably; and |
|
WHEREAS, Hector and his family later moved to McAllen, where |
|
he forged many strong friendships and became a source of knowledge |
|
and inspiration to his loved ones and his neighbors; he will long be |
|
remembered for his wisdom and generosity, and his memory will be |
|
forever cherished by his family and by all who were blessed to share |
|
in his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby extend sincere condolences |
|
to the bereaved family of Hector Hugo Gutierrez; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for them |
|
as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate and that |
|
when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Hector |
|
Gutierrez. |
