SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and |
|
commemorates the life of Hector Hugo Gutierrez, who died on |
|
August 9, 2023; and |
|
WHEREAS, Hector Gutierrez was born in Paras, Nuevo Leon, |
|
Mexico, and was raised in Monterrey; a brilliant student with |
|
extraordinary promise, Hector began a long and successful career |
|
in banking and was assigned to a post in Reynosa, Mexico; and |
|
WHEREAS, A man of discipline and integrity, Hector held a |
|
number of leadership positions in Reynosa, including regional |
|
director for a national Mexican bank; he found great fulfillment |
|
serving as an officer in finance until 1989, when he retired from |
|
banking to pursue a career in law; and |
|
WHEREAS, Hector became a licensed attorney in Mexico, |
|
where he devoted his time and energy to representing business |
|
owners and other individuals in numerous cases involving land |
|
disputes; he was beloved and respected in his community for the |
|
wisdom of his counsel and the breadth of his understanding of |
|
legal matters, Mexican politics, and current events; and |
|
WHEREAS, Hector was a faithful husband to Isabelle, his |
|
wife of 55 years, and was a loving father to their three sons, |
|
Hugo, Jaime, and Carlos, as well as a doting grandfather to their |
|
three grandsons, who enriched his life immeasurably; and |
|
WHEREAS, Hector and his family later moved to McAllen, |
|
where he forged many strong friendships and became a source of |
|
knowledge and inspiration to his loved ones and his neighbors; he |
|
will long be remembered for his wisdom and generosity, and his |
|
memory will be forever cherished by his family and by all who were |
|
blessed to share in his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby extend sincere |
|
condolences to the bereaved family of Hector Hugo Gutierrez; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
them as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate |
|
and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of |
|
Hector Gutierrez. |
