R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Leander Independent School District has been |
|
|
named the 2023 College Board Advanced Placement Large District of |
|
|
the Year and is being honored during a special ceremony at Vista |
|
|
Ridge High School on November 16; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each year, the College Board Advanced Placement |
|
|
Program recognizes just three schools nationwide, in small-, |
|
|
medium-, and large-district categories, for their achievements in |
|
|
expanding access to AP initiatives and boosting equity and exam |
|
|
performance; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Leander ISD has made advanced academic coursework an |
|
|
integral part of its educational mission; the district's advanced |
|
|
pathway programs are offered at elementary and middle school |
|
|
campuses, and AP high school classes give students the opportunity |
|
|
to excel in a challenging learning environment that enables them to |
|
|
build the knowledge and discipline they need to prepare for |
|
|
college; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A quality education is critical to the continuing |
|
|
vitality of our state, and the administrators and faculty of |
|
|
Leander ISD are to be commended for helping students to reach their |
|
|
full potential by prioritizing Advanced Placement studies; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 4th |
|
|
Called Session, hereby congratulate the Leander Independent School |
|
|
District on its selection as the 2023 College Board Advanced |
|
|
Placement Large District of the Year and extend to all those |
|
|
associated with the district sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Leander ISD as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas Senate. |
