SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize the Hill-Bert's Burgers in Austin and the family of |
|
|
Hilbert R. Maldonado on the occasion of the restaurant's 50th |
|
|
anniversary; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This treasured family-owned business was founded |
|
|
in 1973 by enterprising University of Texas student Hilbert R. |
|
|
Maldonado, who set out to create the best burger in the capital |
|
|
city; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Hilbert and his wife Lucille, pursued their dream |
|
|
of establishing Hill-Bert's Burgers, and their phenomenal family |
|
|
burger and milkshake recipes became favorites of Austin locals |
|
|
and visitors alike; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For 50 years, the Austin community has been |
|
|
overwhelmingly appreciative of Hill-Bert's fresh and juicy |
|
|
burgers, hand-breaded chicken-fried steak sandwiches, homemade |
|
|
onion rings, and famous milkshakes; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This beloved business and its owners and staff |
|
|
are indeed deserving of special recognition for catering to the |
|
|
hearts and palates of Texans throughout the years and for |
|
|
continuing their family's proud tradition of providing |
|
|
exceptional service and delicious fare to their customers; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|
|
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend the Maldonado |
|
|
family and the staff of Hill-Bert's Burgers on their |
|
|
contributions to the Austin community and extend to all |
|
|
congratulations on the restaurant's 50th anniversary and best |
|
|
wishes for the future and for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as a |
|
|
memento of this special occasion. |
