SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Bishop Joseph Jackson of Dallas on his outstanding
  contributions to his community and on his elevation to the office
  of Auxiliary Bishop in the Church of God in Christ,
  International; and
         WHEREAS, Joseph Jackson serves as pastor of First
  Pentecostal Church of God in Christ in Dallas, and he was first
  called to ministry in 1965 under the leadership of his father,
  Rev. R. M. Jackson; and
         WHEREAS, An accomplished scholar and theologian, Bishop
  Jackson has served the Church of God in Christ at the local,
  state, and national levels throughout his ministry; in 2015, he
  took on his role as first administrative assistant to Bishop
  Reginald L. Williams Sr., Prelate of the Texas Metropolitan
  Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, and in 2021, he was consecrated to
  the episcopal office of bishop; and
         WHEREAS, Diligent in the execution of his duties and
  dedicated to helping others, Bishop Jackson has served as
  district superintendent of the organization's Texas Northeast
  First Jurisdiction and as regional coordinator for the
  International Youth Department; in addition to his service and
  ministry through the church, he serves as a volunteer chaplain at
  Methodist Charlton Hospital and has been an honored guest speaker
  at Texas A&M University--Commerce and South Oak Cliff High
  School; and
         WHEREAS, Bishop Jackson has ministered faithfully to the
  spiritual and temporal needs of his congregation and innumerable
  Christians, and he has led his church members in establishing
  various outreach ministries and services in support of seniors,
  families facing food insecurity, and the homeless; and
         WHEREAS, Highly respected as a spiritual leader and
  mentor, Bishop Jackson is truly deserving of special recognition
  on his many contributions to the Dallas community and on his
  exemplary leadership and devoted service as pastor of First
  Pentecostal Church of God in Christ; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Bishop Joseph
  Jackson on his elevation to the office of Auxiliary Bishop in the
  Church of God in Christ, International, and extend to him best
  wishes for success in his ministry and in all of his endeavors;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
