R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Samuel Garcia has been selected by Forbes magazine |
|
for inclusion in the venture capital category of its 2024 30 Under |
|
30 list, which recognizes young innovators in a range of fields; and |
|
WHEREAS, Sam Garcia earned his place on the list for his role |
|
as a partner at Amplo, a Texas-based venture capital fund; with six |
|
years of experience in venture capitalism, he focuses on investing |
|
in early-stage tech companies, serving on the boards of Lightyear, |
|
Flume, Kredi, Tradespace, Wizehire, Steno, Axion Ray, and Doxel; he |
|
further contributes to the industry as vice president of LatinxVC; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Mission, Mr. Garcia holds a bachelor's |
|
degree from The University of Texas at Austin Canfield Business |
|
Honors Program and a juris doctor degree from Harvard Law School; |
|
one of the youngest Hispanic faculty members in the history of |
|
Harvard Law School, he will be teaching Applying Legal Knowledge in |
|
VC Business Diligence in spring 2024; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his hard work and commitment to excellence, |
|
Sam Garcia has set an example to which all in his field may aspire, |
|
and this prestigious honor is a fitting tribute to all that he has |
|
accomplished; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 4th |
|
Called Session, hereby congratulate Samuel Garcia on his inclusion |
|
on the Forbes magazine 2024 30 Under 30 list and extend to him |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Garcia as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
Senate. |
