Amend CSSB 14 (house committee report) on page 5, between lines 12 and 13, by inserting the following:
Sec. 161.7065. STUDY. (a) The commission shall conduct a study to evaluate the suicide rate of children who are impacted by the prohibition under Section 161.702.
(b) Not later than September 1, 2028, the commission shall prepare and submit to the legislature a written report that includes:
(1) a summary of the results of the study conducted under this section; and
(2) any legislative recommendations based on the results of the study.
(c) This section expires September 1, 2029.
