AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT
Too often, members of the Texas State Guard pay approximately $300 in order to purchase their own uniforms. The legislature should appropriate money to the Texas State Guard Uniform and Insignia Fund to help defray these costs. H.B. 387 seeks to facilitate such an appropriation.
H.B. 387 amends current law relating to the Texas State Guard uniform and insignia fund.
RULEMAKING AUTHORITY
This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency.
SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS
SECTION 1. Amends Section 437.310(b), Government Code, as follows:
(b) Provides that the Texas State Guard uniform and insignia fund (fund) consists of:
(1) makes no changes to this subdivision;
(2)-(3) makes nonsubstantive changes to these subdivisions; and
(4)� money appropriated, credited, or transferred to the fund by the legislature.
SECTION 2. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2023.
