AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT

The term "pass" is used in various sections of the Transportation Code to govern specific driving behaviors, but it requires clarification. H.B. 3126 seeks to ensure that only intended circumstances are governed by the terms "pass" and "passing" with regard to the rules of the road by including a specification in the definitions that returning to the original lane of travel is part of that maneuver.

H.B. 3126 amends current law relating to the definitions of "pass" and "passing" used in reference to a vehicle.
