AUTHOR'S / SPONSOR'S STATEMENT OF INTENT
Since 2010, Denton, Collin, Dallas, and Tarrant Counties have grown substantially in population. The suburban expansion seen in Denton and Collin Counties was between 29 percent and 51 percent. To help accommodate such rapid population growth and average commute times in the Dallas area, the bill intends to expand the Texas State Technical College system to recognize a Denton County campus.
As proposed, S.B. 1442 amends current law relating to the creation of a campus of the Texas State Technical College System.
