A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to expanding the number of dispensing organization license |
|
|
holders under the Texas Compassionate-Use Program. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Not later than December 31, 2024, the Department |
|
|
of Public Safety shall license at least six dispensing |
|
|
organizations in accordance with Section 487.053, Health and Safety |
|
|
Code, including those already licensed as of the effective date of |
|
|
this Act, provided at least six applicants for a license to operate |
|
|
as a dispensing organization have met the requirements for approval |
|
|
provided by Subchapter C, Chapter 487, Health and Safety Code. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
