A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the use of certain devices by a person near a voting |
|
|
station; creating a criminal offense. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 61.014, Election Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsections (e) and (f) to read as follows: |
|
|
(e) A person commits an offense if the person, with |
|
|
knowledge that such activity is illegal, knowingly violates |
|
|
Subsection (a) or (b). |
|
|
(f) An offense under Subsection (e) is a Class C |
|
|
misdemeanor. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
