A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the use of water withdrawn from the Edwards Aquifer. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 1.34(b), Chapter 626, Acts of the 73rd |
|
|
Legislature, Regular Session, 1993, is amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(b) Water withdrawn from the aquifer must be used within: |
|
|
(1) the boundaries of the authority; or |
|
|
(2) the geographic area of a certificate of |
|
|
convenience and necessity that extends beyond the boundaries of the |
|
|
authority and a portion of which existed within the boundaries of |
|
|
the authority on June 28, 1996. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
