A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to the submission of personal contact information by
  certain local government officials to the Texas Division of
  Emergency Management and local health departments.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter C, Chapter 418, Government Code, is
  amended by adding Section 418.059 to read as follows:
         Sec. 418.059.  REQUIRED SUBMISSION OF PERSONAL CONTACT
  INFORMATION. (a)  Each city manager, mayor, county judge, and
  director of a municipality's or county's local health department
  shall submit to the division the person's personal contact
  information to be used during a state of disaster declared under
  this chapter or a public health disaster or emergency declared
  under Chapter 81, Health and Safety Code.
         (b)  Information a person submits under this section is
  confidential and exempt from disclosure under Chapter 552.
         SECTION 2.  Subchapter D, Chapter 121, Health and Safety
  Code, is amended by adding Section 121.035 to read as follows:
         Sec. 121.035.  REQUIRED SUBMISSION OF PERSONAL CONTACT
  INFORMATION. (a)  Each city manager, mayor, and county judge shall
  submit to the local health department of the municipality or county
  in which the person serves in that office the person's personal
  contact information to be used during a state of disaster declared
  under Section 418.014, Government Code, or a public health disaster
  or emergency declared under Chapter 81.
         (b)  Information a person submits under this section is
  confidential and exempt from disclosure under Chapter 552,
  Government Code.
         SECTION 3.  Not later than January 1, 2024, a person required
  to submit information under Section 418.059, Government Code, as
  added by this Act, or Section 121.035, Health and Safety Code, as
  added by this Act, shall submit the information required by those
  sections.
         SECTION 4.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
