A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the eligibility of The University of Texas at Tyler to |
|
|
receive formula funding for the university's school of pharmacy. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 76.026(c), Education Code, is amended to |
|
|
read as follows: |
|
|
(c) The board shall provide for the operations and capital |
|
|
expenses of the school to be supported by tuition, gifts, grants, |
|
|
and other institutional or system funds available for that purpose. |
|
|
This subsection does not affect the eligibility of the school[, |
|
|
except that the school is not eligible] for funding under the |
|
|
formulas established under Section 61.059 for instruction, |
|
|
operations, and [or] infrastructure. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
