A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the practice of barbering and cosmetology at an |
|
|
establishment at a public secondary school. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 1603, Occupations Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 1603.359 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 1603.359. PRACTICE OF BARBERING AND COSMETOLOGY AT |
|
|
ESTABLISHMENT AT PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOL. (a) Notwithstanding |
|
|
Section 1603.358, a person may operate an establishment on the same |
|
|
premises as a public secondary school licensed under Subchapter E-3 |
|
|
without separating the facilities by a wall or other permanent |
|
|
structure. |
|
|
(b) The commission may adopt rules as necessary to implement |
|
|
this section. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
