A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the enforcement by the attorney general of rules |
|
|
adopted by the Railroad Commission of Texas requiring gas supply |
|
|
chain facility operators to implement measures to prepare to |
|
|
operate during a weather emergency. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 86.044(h), Natural Resources Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(h) If the commission determines that a person has violated |
|
|
a rule adopted under this section, the commission shall notify the |
|
|
attorney general of a violation that is not remedied in a reasonable |
|
|
amount of time. The attorney general may [shall] initiate a suit |
|
|
to recover a penalty for the violation in the manner provided by |
|
|
Subchapter G. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
