A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to an exemption from the plumbing licensing law for |
|
certain work performed on certain private property. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 1301, Occupations Code, is |
|
amended by adding Section 1301.059 to read as follows: |
|
Sec. 1301.059. WORK PERFORMED ON CERTAIN PRIVATE PROPERTY. |
|
(a) A person is not required to be licensed under this chapter to |
|
perform work consisting of installing, servicing, or repairing |
|
service mains or service lines that provide water, sewer, or storm |
|
drainage services on private property in an area that extends from a |
|
public right-of-way or public easement to not less than five feet |
|
from a building or structure. |
|
(b) This section does not apply to plumbing work performed |
|
on private property designated for use as a one-family or |
|
two-family dwelling. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
