A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|

|
relating to the expiration date for support from a program of the |
|
|
universal service fund to certain competitive eligible |
|
|
telecommunications providers serving deregulated areas. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 56.023(s), Utilities Code, is amended to |
|
|
read as follows: |
|
|
(s) The support for eligible telecommunications providers |
|
|
under Subsections (p) and (r) expires December 31, 2027 [2023]. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
