A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to guidelines for prescribing opioid antagonists at chemical dependency facilities.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. Section 170.002 (b), Occupations Code, is amended by adding subsection (b-3) to read as follows:

(b-3) prescribing an opioid antagonist to a patient with opioid use disorder upon release from a chemical dependency treatment facility, as defined by Section 464.001, Health and Safety Code.
