A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to requirements for counties posting election information |
|
|
on an Internet website. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

|
SECTION 1. Section 31.125, Election Code, is amended by |
|
|
adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(b-1) A county shall use the top-level domain ".gov" or |
|
|
".texas.gov" for an Internet website used to post election |
|
|
information as required by this code. |
|
|
SECTION 2. A county shall comply with the requirements of |
|
|
Section 31.125(b-1), Election Code, as added by this Act, as soon as |
|
|
practicable after the effective date of this Act but not later than |
|
|
September 1, 2024. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
