A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the recording of open meetings held by certain water |
|
|
districts. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 49, Water Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Section 49.0645 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 49.0645. RECORDING OF MEETINGS. (a) The board shall |
|
|
make an audio recording of reasonable quality of each open meeting |
|
|
held by the board. |
|
|
(b) A recording made under this section must be: |
|
|
(1) if the district maintains an Internet website: |
|
|
(A) made available on the Internet website of the |
|
|
district not later than the fifth day after the date of the meeting; |
|
|
and |
|
|
(B) maintained on the Internet website of the |
|
|
district until the first anniversary of the meeting date; or |
|
|
(2) if the district does not maintain an Internet |
|
|
website: |
|
|
(A) made available to the public at the regular |
|
|
office of the district; and |
|
|
(B) maintained until the first anniversary of the |
|
|
meeting date. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
