A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to methods of instruction for the eyelash extension |
|
|
specialist curriculum. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 1603.351, Occupations Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Subsection (d) to read as follows: |
|
|
(d) A school offering a curriculum for a license under |
|
|
Section 1603.2103(a)(8) shall determine: |
|
|
(1) a number of hours to be designated as the theory |
|
|
portion, which may be provided through distance education; and |
|
|
(2) a number of hours to be designated as the practical |
|
|
portion, which must be provided through in-person instruction. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Not later than December 31, 2023, the Texas |
|
|
Commission of Licensing and Regulation shall adopt rules to |
|
|
implement the changes to Section 1603.351, Occupations Code, as |
|
|
added by this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to |
|
|
the curriculum content requirements for a student who registers to |
|
|
take a curriculum for a license under Section 1603.2103(a)(8) on or |
|
|
after January 1, 2024. |
|
|
SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
