A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the eligibility to act as a supervisor in certain |
|
|
counties for an applicant for a license as a professional |
|
|
counselor. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 503, Occupations Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 503.3021 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 503.3021. ELIGIBILITY TO ACT AS SUPERVISOR IN CERTAIN |
|
|
COUNTIES. (a) This section applies only to a county with a |
|
|
population of less than 100,000 that is not adjacent to a county |
|
|
with a population of more than 100,000. |
|
|
(b) The executive council shall allow a person licensed as a |
|
|
marriage and family therapist under Chapter 502 to act as a |
|
|
supervisor under this chapter in a county to which this section |
|
|
applies for purposes of supervising an applicant for any experience |
|
|
hours required by rules adopted under Section 503.302(a)(4), |
|
|
including any direct client counseling hours. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
