A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the verification disclosure of the contents of oil and |
|
|
gas waste stored in pits at commercial oil and gas waste disposal |
|
|
facilities. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 91, Natural Resources |
|
|
Code, is amended by adding Section 91.1018 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 91.1018. VERIFICATION AND DISCLOSURE OF CONTENT OF OIL |
|
|
AND GAS WASTE. (a) The commission by rule shall require the |
|
|
operator of a commercial oil and gas waste disposal facility that |
|
|
receives oil and gas waste for storage or disposal to: |
|
|
(1) verify the contents of that waste before receiving |
|
|
the waste; and |
|
|
(2) provide to the commission a list of the fluids and |
|
|
materials stored or disposed of at the facility. |
|
|
(b) The commission shall: |
|
|
(1) adopt a standard reporting form to be used for the |
|
|
purposes of this section; and |
|
|
(2) post lists received under this section on the |
|
|
commission's Internet website. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2024. |
