               AN ACT

            relating to the authority of the Texas Department of Transportation  | 
         
         
            | 
                
			 | 
            to provide department services on federal military property. | 
         
         
            | 
                
			 | 
                   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | 
         
         
            | 
                
			 | 
                   SECTION 1.  Section 201.1056(a), Transportation Code, is  | 
         
         
            | 
                
			 | 
            amended to read as follows: | 
         
         
            | 
                
			 | 
                   (a)  The department may enter into an agreement with the  | 
         
         
            | 
                
			 | 
            United States Department of Defense or another federal entity to  | 
         
         
            | 
                
			 | 
            allow the department to assist with the provision of any department  | 
         
         
            | 
                
			 | 
            services, including road maintenance, improvement, relocation, or  | 
         
         
            | 
                
			 | 
            extension services, for military installations. | 
         
         
            | 
                
			 | 
                   SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives  | 
         
         
            | 
                
			 | 
            a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as  | 
         
         
            | 
                
			 | 
            provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this  | 
         
         
            | 
                
			 | 
            Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this  | 
         
         
            | 
                
			 | 
            Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
