A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
| |
|
|
relating to the award of attorney's fees in an action to enforce a |
|
|
motor vehicle mortgagee's lien. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 61, Property Code, is amended by adding |
|
|
Section 61.006 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 61.006. ATTORNEY'S FEES. The prevailing party in an |
|
|
action to enforce this chapter is entitled to recover reasonable |
|
|
attorney's fees. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|
|
to an action commenced on or after the effective date of this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
