A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to changes to certain long-term care facilities' essential |
|
|
caregiver policies and procedures. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 260B.0002, Health and Safety Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(b-1) A facility or program provider that changes any policy |
|
|
or procedure relating to essential caregiver visitation shall: |
|
|
(1) post the changes to any Internet website the |
|
|
provider maintains; and |
|
|
(2) notify each designated essential caregiver by |
|
|
telephone of the changes. |
|
|
SECTION 2. Section 555.202, Health and Safety Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (b-1) to read as follows: |
|
|
(b-1) A state supported living center that changes any |
|
|
policy or procedure relating to essential caregiver visitation |
|
|
shall: |
|
|
(1) post the changes to any Internet website the |
|
|
center maintains; and |
|
|
(2) notify each designated essential caregiver by |
|
|
telephone of the changes. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
