A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

Relating to the act of profiling by a peace officer.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:

SECTION 1. ARTICLE 2.131 of the Code of Criminal Procedure is to be amended as follows:

SECTION 2. Art. 2.131. RACIAL PROFILING PROHIBITED. A peace officer may not engage in racial profiling activities, including:

a) Racial;

b) Sex;

c) Gender;

d) Religious;

e) Ethnic; or

f) Age.

SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
