A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the qualifications and term of the presiding officer of |
|
|
the Texas Funeral Service Commission. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 651.057(a), Occupations Code, is amended |
|
|
to read as follows: |
|
|
(a) The governor shall designate one member of the |
|
|
commission as the presiding officer of the commission to serve in |
|
|
that capacity at the pleasure of the governor [for three years. In |
|
|
designating presiding officers, the governor shall alternate |
|
|
between public and nonpublic members]. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
