A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to annual financial reports submitted by state agencies. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 2101.011, Government Code, is amended by |
|
|
amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (b-1), (b-2), and |
|
|
(b-3) to read as follows: |
|
|
(b) A [Not later than November 20 of each year, a] state |
|
|
agency shall submit an annual financial report regarding the |
|
|
agency's use of appropriated money during the preceding fiscal year |
|
|
to: |
|
|
(1) the governor; |
|
|
(2) the comptroller; |
|
|
(3) the Legislative Reference Library; |
|
|
(4) the state auditor; and |
|
|
(5) the Legislative Budget Board. |
|
|
(b-1) A state agency shall submit the annual financial |
|
|
report required by Subsection (b) not later than November 1 of each |
|
|
year. |
|
|
(b-2) Notwithstanding Subsection (b-1), a university system |
|
|
or an institution of higher education as defined by Section 61.003, |
|
|
Education Code, shall submit the annual financial report required |
|
|
by Subsection (b) not later than November 20 of each year. |
|
|
(b-3) Notwithstanding Subsection (b-1), a state agency, |
|
|
including a university system or an institution of higher |
|
|
education, that obtains an audited financial report shall submit |
|
|
the audited annual financial report in place of the annual |
|
|
financial report required by Subsection (b) not later than December |
|
|
15 of each year. |

|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2024. |
